Conversely, prior to that, I used the "OEM" mounts which turned out to be solid and only lasted a few months.

When I challenged the OEM statement, I was told they were, as defined by Original Equipment Manufacturer or a manufacturer who supplies to a car company. Not that the parts are identical to those supplied to Porsche. It cost me dearly as the mounts failed, the fan cut through the upper radiator hose. The motor overheated and the cam seized.

I don't know how to tell the solid from hydraulic, they look identical on the outside. Only when they break in half can you see they are solid.
That pretty much does it for me. Thanks.

See if Dave at CEP will make you up a set of semi-solid (if he doesn't have any left). I love mine.

LR ultra mounts work very well. Idle slightly noticeable on the steering wheel as compared to stock FACTORY mounts. You can also slightly lower the motor using the LR Ultra mounts. If your car is stock or slightly modified, the stock mounts are superior in terms of vibration. If your motor is putting down some serious power, the squish happening will cause the stock mounts to fail sooner than designed.

Yes, slightly more vibration with the LR Mounts. Been wrestling with going back to stock. Did you see some failures with the stock mounts with your car George?

Would a stroked 27/8 with a tranny re-gear be considered serious enough?

My stock mounts were so bad that the semi-solid mounts I put in reduced the vibration significantly!!!! Next up is the transmission semi-solid mount!

I really like them....I got mine from Pelican as Lindsey was out for a few weeks when I needed them and CEP just plain never got back to me again after I got the initial information from them and sent a couple of further emails and got nothing...and so with no phone number I had to go with what was out there. Pelican got them to me in like 3 days from their supplier.

Yes. The motor would move so much that the mounts would compress enough for my intake to hit my strut bar. The LR mounts lowered the motor about 1/2 inch, and there is very little squish now.

[QUOTE=Crackership;9766424]I'd give Travis at Rennbay a call. He's got a good line on parts.

Thanks for the input. I think I will stick with the LR Ultra Mounts.

I have the Ultra Mounts on my car and I don't find the vibrations bad at all but I have never experienced what fresh OEM mounts felt like so I can't compare. The car certainly doesn't feel like a modern day car where you can't feel any vibrations but I don't really care...only time you will ever notice anything is at idle like George said.
