One of the best 951's I've owned had a modded head, MAF, Split Second fuel controller, Chips, full 3" exhaust, 3 bar rising rate FPR and STOCK injectors. Car hit 345tq at 3500rpm and 335hp at 6200rpm running 17psi. When you hit the gas, there was very little lag, and the car was one of the fastest cars in my area about 13 years ago. These numbers are what many listers are seeing with modern turbos, and similar mods today. When I went with a Lindsey Racing Super 75 on a different car, with better electronics, but very similar mods, we got another 100hp but similar tq, BUT it moved max tq all the way up to 5K. The K27 car was MUCH faster.

I guarantee that the super 75 that you are using has a mismatched hot side turbine wheel and maybe even a turbine housing. Spool-up characteristic is a direct result of hot side turbine selection. That turbo has no problem making 700hp but if you sacrifice some top end performance you can dial in a very quick spool up with a smaller turbine and housing combination. You will end up with a fast spooling turbo capable of more hp than the parts on the car can handle. And just as fast of a spool if not faster than a 6 or 8 kkk turbo. BTW: a pressure ratio of 2 is about 12psi at sea level. It's false that the Garrett turbines aren't efficient until 30 psi.

That blue 89 951 I had is the one that Jeff Dicicco installed a 3.0. He just rebuilt it here in Tucson with the help of Sean, Justin, and me delivering food and booze. I did help, and it came out great.
Ha... back when Rennlist was something else... was it Porschephiles or Porschelist?

Those were the original dyno battle days. I'd have to say it was around 1997 when we use to all meet to battle it out on the dynojet.

Man... how time flies...

Where did Jeff Dicicco go? I lost track of him after he got in trouble racing his car on Sunset... blew the LSD trans, and the car sat. I sold him (for super cheap) a no LSD trans to get him rolling... then he disappeared.

I had a K27/DR (Powerhaus: 08 wheel inside an 06 housing according to David Raines), spooled pretty good.

Boostlogic recommended/sold me this turbo: Came off a Ferrari TT setup, yes, got it for a steal. I don't mind adapting, I plan to do an engine-out in 2 months: clutch, turbo, MAF, reseal (has fresh head, bearings already). More than a few tuners there stated it'd be a superb match to the car, esp. with the Tial .82 turbine housing. We'll see.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

My .84 T3 Hot side works amazing, I agree with Sid on this one. my .63 Hot Side spooled even better but ran out on the top just a bit. I have my HY35 with a .84 hot side making 25PSI all day now that my boost limiter is turned up, Thanks Josh

I have this turbocharger for sale if anyone's interested: a steal at $850.

I sold my car, don't see another 951 in my immediate future unfort.
