Default Best Turbo For a Street Car

Hey guys I've trying to figure out what turbo I should be saving to get. My car is street driven so least amount of lag with highest realistic output. I know the k27/6 seems to be a good choice I was wondering what other ones would be good. I don't car if they are direction bolt on or not so any Holset, garrett, turbonetics what ever you can think of. Would like to keep the lag simular (close) to a k26/6 or less. Thanks for all the input.

A GT 3071 or 76 both work very well from my experience.

I know you already stated the k27/6. But i thought i'd share my thoughts about it. I have about 1000kms on it since i did the swap and i could not be more pleased. I only use this as a street car mind you. It pulls very strong and still gets good milage. Big plus is the fact its almost a direct bolt in. You just have to change the temp sensor and turbo coolant line modification. No grinding of any sort. For the money I couldn't see there being anything else. I'm enjoying every second of it.

If budget is a non-issue due to fab work then many on here would go with gt30 series or any of the bb turbo that the vendors on here are offering as a direct fitment. From your sig, looks like you already got most of the goodies so as long as you don't go too crazy with wanting the biggest and baddest snail out there, you'd be fine. My experience is limited to the old school journal bearing kkk turbos which happened to work out just fine for my need - a Powerhaus hybrid K27/K29. Sid and Rogue I believe have had success with running Holset so I am sure he and other folks with other turbos will chime in soon.

The best true bolt-on turbo for the street is the old Vitesse stage 2 with quickspool. I may be a little biased in saying so.

thanks a lot for the info guys, I appreciate it. I was wondering what is the overall feel that people get from the Lindsey Racing turbos?

I just bought a Super 61 and put it in. It's called "bolt on" but I had to modify a bracket to get the modified waterline in, than I took out the alt. shroud. Long story short...I put it in drove around for about 30 miles and with the fabspeed DP and LR 3" exhaust it was spooling right around 3K. Now with the dual port wastegate I think I could get it right around 2800K.

I have one with 10 hours on it if you are interested.

I have to agree, love the power delivery. Big improvement over my old 7006 kkk 27/8 with same mods.
