Default wtb afm... idle issue during cold start

Hello everybody my car's idle during cold starts goes up and down and sometimes the engine dies if i dont give it gas. The idle fluctuations stop when the engine is warm. This is an occurring issue since i purchased the car a year ago. The 951 runs great besides that.
I have checked for vacuum leaks. I also installed a mbc and plugged the cycling valve lines. Other than that, the car is completely stock.

Replaced:
sparkplugs and wires
cap and rotor
fuel filter

Yet there is no improvement on the idle issue.
The only thing i havent done is replace the injectors.
When i took off the filter box to observe the afm "Barn door" it would open and close rapidly during a cold start. Is this normal? or does the barn door suppose to open steadily. I would think it would open steadily just a small amount at idle to warm up. im not sure if the afm is faulty. i did open it up and modified the connector to follow a fresh track but the idle is still the same. Any thoughts on this and does anyone have a properly working afm they want to sell?

Before you buy another AFM you might want to try some of the following:

Check O2 sensor and/or wiring
Check fuel injection temp sensor and/or wiring
Check condition of AFM wiper arm and contacts (under electrical cover of AFM)

i did reposition the wiper arm to have a fresh contact. No change at all.

see clarks-garage.com for test procedures for the temp sensor and other likely suspects. Things to check include vacuum leaks, the throttle position sensor, the idle stabilization valve, the O2 sensor, air filter, bypass (blow off) valve, base idle, AFM signals (flow and temp), DME temp sensor, harness, and DME itself...

Temp sensor for DME is located between cyl. 1&2 in the head. I'm pretty sure it was in the block, perhaps the head. Sorry, been a while since I had the head off (a good thing). I'm at work so I can't check my pics on my computer.

As Tom suggested, Clarks has lots of info, which is good because there are a lot of items to check.
