Shawn, very nice numbers and spot on your goals. Was this on E85 or Gas? I have a couple of EBC'S laying around 1 new greedy with display and 1 used, the preferred as it has just a few *****. Sent you a pm.

The low RPM tq is awesome. Looks to be breathing well up top, thanks to your big valve head.

What spring pressure is your tial running?

I keep looking back at the dyno sheets posted and thinking how sweet Shawn's results are. And I want to give Shawn a big thank you for being so organized and and sharing the incremental dyno's along the way. A ton of good info there. Thanks again Shawn! And thanks again also to Sid for his great innovation.

Question for you: would you be worried about running 15~18 psi on pump gas (91 oct) with this setup? I think both you and Sid are on E85? Hopefully you wouldn't mind if Sid chimed in on this too (you're thread)?

BTW, if you fellow listers haven't checkout out Shawn's site you should...

That is freakin' awesome.

Can you post up a dyno chart overlaying the new build @ 18psi against your 2.5L @ 18psi (with the T04, not 26/6)?

Build was good for ~50 peak hp IIRC (your 2.5 with that same turbo @ 18psi made ~350 right?)... would love to see how much more area under the curve you picked up though.

I think I am going to turn the boost down to 15 psi and drive the heck out of it for a while. I must say I do not want to change anything the way this thing feels to drive.

You can see that something is going on with the boost controller even on your 15 psi run. Once you get stable boost control it will be a much flatter torque curve. The engine will probably start to make even more power as it gets broken in more.

I'm also wondering if the inter cooler was warm on the last run?

Pretty darn good for an 8cm hot side!!
Thanks Sid. EBC and in a month or so I plan on another dyno night. I think I can squeeze a bit more out of this setup. Also, going to the strip in the next couple weeks.

Amazing, but you cannot hear it. It makes for a pretty cheap exhaust.

Do it. You will not be disappointed.

Thanks Bruce! It really is fun on the street. The power down low changes the feel of the car so much. The power delivery is very smooth but strong.

E85. I am trying to hold out for Rogue's EBC. If not then a TurboSmart 2. Tial spring is 1.15 bar.

On pump I would be hesitant to go beyond 15 psi. If you do push it past 15 psi I would make sure you carefully monitor knock count.

Yes, I agree. I will try to get that done this weekend.

Running 15-18 psi would not be a prroblem at all . These are low compression engines. I imagine the power would be pretty close. Maybe down just a tad.

Shawn, make sure to take an extra cv axle and if you don't have some kind of trans brace I'd add one. I'd hate to see you break something right away. With the tired you have you'll probably need to really take it easy off the line and through second gear.

Sounds and looks like a very fun ride...

Thanks Sid. Yes, I have a spare set of CV axles. Trans mount is a Kelly Mount - urethane filled. My tires are really exposed with this motor. I am going to try to do something about that fairly quickly. I would definitely like to get a bit of advice about the strip. Been a long time since I have been and much different car. I will pm you about that.

I run 17psi on pump fuel on my car with no issues and not a lot of knock. Anything more than that I run a mix of 93 and 110 octane to bring it down to about 100 octane or so. Considering getting an E85 chip for my M-tune and running that since its at least 100 octane and not $10.50 a gallon like the 110 octane is.

Also- I was there with Shawn at the dyno last night and his car is amazing.

Doesn't the Mtune come with an e85 map by default?

It is an option... The M-Tune comes with two different map pings, usually pump gas, and the choice of either race gas or E85.

Really appreciate you coming out last night and thanks for your help pulling the motor when my arm was banged up, it meant a lot. Funny, your car is kind of a secret around here but it is truly an amazing car, perfect in every way.

I am curious if there are some 3.0 dynos since you guys have a couple in that area?
