Default 86 Stock Turbo Exhaust Picture(Exhaust leak issue)

I am trying to see what kind of clamp/flange they used to secure it to the rest of the exhaust. I always smell exhaust and this is after I replaced my cat section of the exhaust with one from a 1987 car. I cut the flange piece on the 87 cat pipe off so that it would slip right onto my 86 car. I then used a 2" exhaust clamp to hold it together. Ever since putting this cat pipe on it has been leaking. I smell exhaust anytime the windows are down. I have replaced the hatch seal and that helped a little bit.

Could someone give me a good picture of the wastegate tie in on a 1986 951? This will help me figure out what I need to do next.

Yes that ties into your stock exhaust. I just replaced my stock 88 exhaust. The tie in wasl welded to the pipe..no clamps.

Thanks for the pics, but that is for a 1987 exhaust. They switched it after 1986. If you look in my bike the cat pipe doesn't have that flange at all.

Is this what the 86 Turbo is supposed to have?

No the pics is for the bracket that holds the gate up.

I have my cat pipe, dump tube and gate. You can send me a pm with your email adress or tell me what arear specifically you want a pic of. My '86 looks identical to Zeff's from memory. I can go out to the shed and double check if needed.

Also bear in mind, I believe there where 2 or 3 designs for these pipes in'86. Is yours a two piece crossover or 1 piece? That will make a difference, I think. Mine is a two piece and looks almost identical to an '87 and up pipe with the exception of how the flange is on the crossover.
