Wow, that's amazing. Maybe I'll be that good one day, but probably not!

Hi Slide , Sean runs Moton Shocks , standard rear brakes , 993Turbo / 928GTS front calipers & discs with Pagid Blue RS pads

Being an 86 year type , we just run the stock standard 924/931/early 944 el cheapo pressed steel lower control arms with the stock standard ( vintage) 1976 - 1985 rubber suspension bushes , I know it sounds funny , but we do it because it gives an excellent ride on the road ( where it works 99.9 % of the time) , fancy being beaten by not just a 26 year old 951 , but worse still that car has front lower control arms & bushes from a 1976 924 .

The humble little 924 has the last laugh

Remember , the el cheapo steel arms will only fit a 1986 951 & or 944 ( from 1987 the arms are longer)

Now for the breather system , its really fairly simple , make a custom catch can & have it up as high as possible in the engine bay with two breathers into it , + engine oil viscosity( high viscosity racing oil ) & large Oil cooler /s & check or replace the conrod bigend bearings every season ( its only sump off )

Yes this is amazing for sure!

How much gain would there be with race bushings, stripped interior, fiberglass panels etc?

What kind of power is he putting down?

It's funny how "just drop the pan and replace conrod bearings" is the thing most of us have nightmares about! ;-)

Great car setup but you don't get those results without a true talent behind the wheel congrats

thats some amazing times. well done!
I'm surprised that the gt2rs didn't do better, unless the tyre selection was different.

Gotcha,

When you pull those bearings each season -- are you noticing any wear?
Any difference between cylinders?

thanks,

Mike

Great stuff guys! Having seen a few pics of the track that day it was very wet. Would have been tippy toeing around much of the track so congratulations.

Now talk Sean into taking it to the dragstrip and setting a new record.

Congrats once again

Hi Mike , we don't see any difference at all between cylinders in regards to the con rod bearings when we replace them each season

Would be informative to see pics of the bearings you replace and their worn characteristics.

Hi Duke ,there was nothing to look at , we nearly put them back in , but with the standard bearings be so inexpensive & the sump / conrod journals already off , in goes another set for another year .
