There is a lot more to oil film than just ZDDP and viscosity. There's some info in this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-a...synthetic.html
The graphs show oils that are all 50 weight oils (10/15/20W50). Some of the WORST performers have the highest levels of ZDDP. It isn't a case of more is better, it is very much a case of optomizing everything that is in the oil.
I had my con rod bearings go while using an allegedly high ZDDP, 20W50 oil. ONly 3 events on them when they went.

We measure the oil Temp in the sump
Seans Car runs Moton CLub Sports with 750F 850R spring rates. No torsion bars. It also has a few a few Racers Edge bushes. Runs a 60/80 Modena LSD, S2 crown wheel and pinion. Big Reds on the front and stock on the back with Pagids. Interesting though being an 86 we use the old 924 steel front control arms and bushes.
Morning temperature here at the moment is 9 degrees celsius, In winter it may get as low as 5 degrees celsius and in summer we may see some 40 degree celsius days. Although we do not race on such hot days.

When I did my bottom end I modified the oil return discharge pipe. My theory being that the large opening alongside the oil pick-up is not a good position. At high suction I reckon partially aerated oil is also entering the pick-up.
