Anti-Drain Back Valve in our oil filters...Do we need this?

Do we really need this for our cars? I want to use different filters that are Stainless Steel and reusable. Any input from experts would be helpful. I edited my original post cause it was just too Damn long. Thanks Mark...lol

With the level of build your engine has, I think you may want to talk with the shop that built it and see what they say.
The anti drain valve works well for daily drivers but over extended periods, it can let oil by, so if you only start your engine every couple of weeks or so, it probably does you little good and better flow/filtering would be an advantage.

the valve keeps the oil inside the filter i think. this gives faster lubrication upon startup. this is important on filters that are facing down because oil will be drained. filter typically holds 1/4 qt of oil.
