A well sorted 3.0l turbo in a well sorted 951/968 is without a doubt a special, very fast and competent car in most aspects. But it will never be the fastest street car or the quickest car per dollar investment. For pure straight line speed at a minimum cost there are many other, better, choices.

As most of us would concede it takes a 'special' kind of condition to follow these builds through to completion. I don't think there is a clinical term for it yet...951-itis??

Your money, your choice, if I lived in the states (where my close family is) I'd go V8 rather than 3.0 every time.

Availability, cost and sound, if originality is important fair enough but a 3.0 turbo isn't original either. Gas is over $2 a litre here before anyone asks why haven't I done a V8.
