Indycar Boost Levels - Pretty Tame
I see that Indycar is allowing the boost to be raised from 133 to 140 kpa for final practice and qualifying at the Indy 500 - That comes out to ~19 to ~20 psi. Pretty mild by most standards for a race engine. Hell - half the guys on this list are probably running that right now.... on pump gas ! I guess the fact that they rev to 13,000 rpm makes it more of a challenge. I think Porsche should have developed an engine for this series.
Makes me wonder - could our 2.5 liter engines be tuned to make ~600 hp and hold up for 500 miles ?

kPa is an absolute measurement - meaning they are accounting for atmospheric pressure in that number.
So, 140kPa is ~= 20.3psia
Accounting for atmosphere, that is about 5.6psi of actual boost.
