Default Thrust washer/O-Ring on crankshaft

Has anyone ever seen this orange like, goo on their crankshaft ?
What's strange is, I am the orig owner and I don't ever remember ( check that ) I have had the oil pump gear change ( only the water pump) so I am thinking this was done by the factory ??
TIA
Ed

Looks like oxidized grease that was probably used to help the seal slide over the crank snout.

Yes at first is was difficult to discern that there was even a o ring there, it was pasted to the back of the washer (all three O ring washer and goo.. all one piece )
What's strange is that it should have been that way from the factory ??
Unless someone at the dealer had a incident and a repair was needed ??
I never used that stuff "the right stuff" product but maybe this is something like that
Regards
Ed
