Damn, that sucks. When I read the title I thought positively.

Don't worry, Ivan will take care of you.

So at first I f'n flipped! Then realized it is probably just the starter and not the motor.

And I remember IMA has a 1 year warranty on their parts and labor for street cars.
Why do you need a high TQ starter for a 2.8?

Yes IMA in VA. All my dealings so far have been very positive with them.

That'll depend on if you have the 3-piece crossover and crossmember or not...

Probably pretty expensive, then.

You can't get the pan off to change out the bearings with the crossmember and crossover there. So at the very least, the crossover pipe has to come out, and either they pull the motor to get the pan off, or (more likely) suspend the motor from the top and drop the lower crossmember. Though if they pull the crossmember you'll need an alignment afterwards.

Definitely true. No worries about the emails. Take your sweet time -- I'm just doing this on the side as it is.

P5th, bearings are pretty straightforward to do -- don't worry about it. Do you have the ability to do it yourself? It'll be way cheaper that way.

I spun a bearing a while back and it is bascially a bottom end rebuild. So once apart all the new parts and seals etc that go with it.

Big question is how did you spin the bearing? Oil starvation but how? It wasn't on the track so no issue of foaming or pan baffling from hard corner etc.

So IMA did not open the motor at all correct? Just bolt ons right?

If you do mods right, put oil in it at regular intervals, and don't try to find out if the car can rev as high as an F1 car, you shouldn't spin a bearing.
