25k miles! If in great condition I would think thats a reasonable price for an Australian delivered car.One of the reasons I may take mine back to Perth when I head home in the future.

Average 951's go for $16-$20k. Really good ones up to $30k. This one looks concourse.
I have seen S2's with low kms (40,000) go for $35k. So I would imagine $40k would be achievable for the right buyer. $50k seems unlikely.
Cars are expensive here. A new base boxster is around $110k+ IIRC.

Damn that is nice. I've got a real soft spot for that colour. It's both cheap and expensive depending on how you look at it. As Paulyy says, cars are very expensive in most places outside of the U.S. You guys really don't know how lucky you are. Just out of curiosity you should check out that same car site for other Porsches.

You'll be quivering in your boots, especially when you take the fact that our $ are equal in International parity. Then we could start talking about the price of fuel, parts, and labour...IF only you guys had the steering wheel on the Right/Correct side. We could import a US car and save a bundle even after the thieves....err...Australian Govt...take their slice. (In Italy it's the Mafia, in New York it's the Mob...down here it's the Govt!).

Sheezus.
And according to this: http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert/?Amount=1&From=AUD&To=USD the USD is worth only ~3% less than the AUD.
For that kind of money it's probably worth paying to ship my car to AUS when I decide to sell it!

I did the math once, and you would have to get a pristine 944 in the US for under 3K for it to almost have a chance of breaking even once the import was completed...
... much above the 3K purchase price in the U.S. and you would not make a dime once all was said and done.
The AU govt is very much about protecting AU industry, and citizens... If it is made there, it is much easier... just check out the immigration policies of AU...

No, no one want's left hand drive cars down here because, 1 you cannot register them unless they're 25-30 years old (i forget how old). and most LHD cars here are worthless, except the American Muscles but again not many buyers for that sort of car here.
