Any chance they're mounted upside down?

I did not put them in. I will have to check on that. I doubt it though. Actually if you look at the top of the pic you can see the writing is up right. And it is also correct on the coil. So no, they are not upside down.

You can't always base up/down on the writing. Rear coilovers on the 944 are often mounted upside down because of this exact issue, there is no space for the spring at the top, but ample room at the bottom.

I've got the GroundControl rear coilovers on my car. The spring and shaft go on the bottom, strut tube at the top, completely opposite to "normal" coilover orientation. You can see the lower mount bolts in the picture.

Always best to double check. I can't imagine a sping contacting the body is correct. The only other possibility is that the springs are the wrong size. Are the 2.5? 2.0?

here's the proper orientation. i just put them in last weekend. yours look like they're in with the top and bottom correctly, but it's hard to tell from your picture. I'm pretty sure the springs are actually 70mm (2.75"). There is a flange on the top that spaces the shock toward the center of the car about 1/2". you could definitely mount that incorrectly if not paying attention.

I'll bet that flange is in the wrong way. Is it doing the same thing on the other side? Unfortunately I don't have any good pictures of that flange but it just sticks out further on one side than the other.

Those are different/heavier springs than on my v3's. Are you not running torsion bars?

Mine were close, but did not touch. Are you sure you have the L and R sides correct?

Yeah, like I said, I bought the car like this. So now that I am seeing these pics, they must be in incorrectly. I am running 500 in the back right now. But I do have heavier springs coming shortly. Actually any day now. I will of course have to pull them and put them in the right way. By the way, here is the subject.

even if the lefts and rights are on the correct side keep in mind that the top mount can be twisted 180 degrees and just the top mount can be wrong. The side with the flange goes toward the outside of the car.

nice looking car man. i have those same tires except on 16's.

Looks good, i had mentally added the Broadfoot flares to my 'future mods' list. I am running the same tires also on my track wheels, not to bad and they are cheap!

How wide are the rear wheels? I was wondering how much wheel you can go with on those flares.. i am running 17x10.5's in the back, will probably have to send them back to CCW to rebarrel at the least, but probably better off just selling them and buying a new set due to such a drastic change in offset / width.
