Default 951S total repaint: OE Glasurit Guards Red

Actually it's Indiscrot if my memory serves.

My car was painted last year but is having the nose/rear of the car re-painted as the sloth who handled the primer forgot the proper adhesion agent, so I was having some issues.

Fiberglass hood is coming off to put the OEM one back on (FS if DizzyJ doesn't end up taking it from me). I also have extra headlight lids, rear bumper, mirror flags, FL fender, & header panel available for anyone needing parts.

I deleted the rub strips as it really cleans up the lines, but I left the rest of the body OE, mirrors included. The entire front end & mirrors will be 3M clear bra'd.

I still have to have my tint re-done & my outer door seals replaced: that looked like fun...(not).

Mark

That's great! I jsut did the same thing last summer and understand all the work that goes into as I'm sure you do as well. One thing is for sure: WE NEED MORE PICS!! haha, jsut saying you cant give us a cell phone photo of your brand new paint work.

Did you do any of the prep work or drop the car off with the body shop to do all the work?

Thanks guys. I did about 90% of the prep work as I learned from restoring a 928 some 10 years ago.

I'll have more pictures this week for sure.

That's what sold me on my 88S. The guy paid a ton for a proper GR respray. It's a few years old now but damn does she look nice when she's shiney. That said, I graduate soon, meaning (hopefully) I'll have some time to throw at the 951. It's been sitting in the garage for close to a year since I last touched it :x

Now is the perfect time to add the cool Turbo front fender badge/decal and really make the car pop.

Looks good. I would love to see some better pics too. A respray is on my to do list too but it is a long way off, as my paint is pretty good and I can't justify the $$'s at this point.

Looks good, nice and shiny! What's with the run lines on the front bumper cover?

reflection from the lights: there as one run (not shown in photo) but being sanded out. Single-stage paint, no worries.

Gotta love Guards Red. I think it was that color that first made me fall in love with the 944 when it was in that d@mn Pretty In Pink movie.. (The ONLY reason I would ever watch that movie now) Well.. Ok.. I have a daughter.. So maybe not the ONLY reason..

update:

Hood is getting guide-coat wet-sanded today, so it'll get paint tomorrow. Headlight lids, mirrors, rear bumper all painted. Front bumper getting a bit more attention before it's shot tomorrow. Getting closer!
