to tall. it'll make the car sit higher then stock and it'll put the speedo off.

To the OP
I just bought Toyo T1R 245/45 R16 and couldn't be happier.

T1R is discontinued I think.

Car will only sit 1" higher and speedo will be off by only 3-4%. Odometer might be thrown off... but what 944 on the road today has a odometer that's 100% accurate of car's mileage?

You'll get a little more sidewall flex and etc. But for a street driven car, I don't think that's a huge deal. Just my .02

The car will only sit 12-15mm higher and in my experience the speedo accuracy is improved. You get a little sidewall bulge but that protects the rim lip.

Maybe just certain sizes then. I tried sourcing a 265/40/17 T1R to pair with a lightly used one I have laying around, was told by all vendors that the T1R was discontinued and replaced by T1S.

What's the build date on those you bought?

The Toyo T1R replaced the T1S quite a few years ago. In the UK we can still buy T1Rs, Contisports, Hankook K105s, Michelin SX MXX and Bridgestone SO2s. I bought SO2s last week and they had a build date 50th week of 2010 IIRC. They are even N3 rated. We also get Toyo and Kumho R compounds.
