Lart- The instrument cluster is nice and tight because I recently replaced the reflective stuff and bulbs. I need several large stacks of $100 bills.

I'm about halfway through pulling mine... I'm doing it to replace the whole wiring harness though.

It's really easy, just a bunch of screws.

i called that leather guy. and by the time i was off the phone with him,

it seemed like i already was getting ready to spend 3 and a half grand on a leather dash.

by the time i finish my car i could have had a Cayman S, 3 spare engines and two month-long surf trips to Australia.

My uncle owns an upholstery shop here in the Chicago area. He quoted me right about the same $$ as 928LeatherShop. From what he explained, getting all the leather on so it sits nice, flat, etc. is a pain. He restores Rolls Royce interiors so he may be a little more **** than most. I was lucky to find a crack-free dash on Craigslist and installed that in my car. I'm tempted to buy the kit and attempt to recover my original cracked dash myself though my uncle advised against it.

I R&R'd the dash in a day. (Well, 1/2 day one day to remove, and 1/2 day the next day to install.) Baggies like everybody suggests are the way to go. Managed to keep all my trim pieces intact but some of them did make a little noise coming off - just be patient. It's really pretty simple - a lot easier than I expected it to be.
