done some research and found out the stock front tires where 205/55 r16 and rear: 225/50 r16. so the back was a size smaller and now we've gone down 1 size for the front and back as "standard"

I'm leaning towards the Toyo T1R but i've read they've stopped making them.
Nexen n3000 could be another option, but i keep seeing "good for what they are" probably means good cheap tyre.

Or i need new rims

The stock Fuchs are 7" wide front and 8" wide rear. I have a set of 951 rear fuchs on the front (8" wide) and a set of 930 fuchs in the rear (9" wide). The 265/45's fit perfectly.

I've got Continentals on the rear of mine for the road from Stuckeys.
Don't try and run R spec tires on our goat track roads in Melbourne, I get punctures if I leave my race wheels on.
As a slight diversion, do you attract any attention from the police? My car is far from stock in appearance but I've not been pulled over(yet!)

i just ordered toyo T1R tires $320 fitted. seems okay.
i looked at continentals, but the feedback wasn't that good.

you're lucky! Which side of melb you from though? Outside my car looks 90% stock, except the twin exhaust and my front mount. i used to get pulled over at least once a week, not to much any more but i always get looks from the police officers. It's more because i'm a P Plater.
BTW you've got a PM

Didn't the Turbo S come with 245/45 on a 8" wheel?

For a 265/45 tire the recommended rim width is 8.5" to 10".

You can quite happily run a 245/45 on a 16x8 - I have done it before. The tyre will work better stretched out a bit on a 16x9 though.

Sounds fun . You should try to find some 9" rear wheels and put the Kumho XS 265/45 R16 on there for more traction

the plan is when these tires are finishes, i'll buy new rims with fatter tires! 235 or 245 fronts and 275 rears

i "tested" the toyos lastnight and they've got some serious grip.
