You'll hear "315s went on with minimal fuss" to "235s rubbed a little". My new wheels are greater offsets, but I don't think you're going to need much for those offsets. Anyway, here's my backyard technique.

1. Get 20 large washers that fit onto your studs.
2. Place washers on 3 out of the 5 studs (1 on each might do, or 5 on each, who knows).
3. Mount wheel, just snug the nuts.
4. Repeat until it looks good (and doesn't hit or rub anything).
5. Remove wheel.
6. Measure thickness of washer stack.
7. Order 2 spacers in that thickness. Adapters or longer studs may need to be part of the order.
8. Repeat for front.

Got mine on last week, so its fresh in my mind. Its "86 also.

Front is 7.5x18" ET55 with 21mm spacer, you could get 10mm more spacer easily. Tires 225/40/18
Rear is 10x18" ET65 with 27mm spacer, some space left also. Tires 255/35/18

Yep! I had to throw that in there. Its too easy to get it perfect. I spent way too much time reading posts about math, side to side differences, etc....

Grassroots Motorsports right there! Easily the quickest way to find out "will this fit?"
