I had a similar issue a few weeks ago ... Out of the blue ...
Tom helped me test the TPS and it seemed fine. We think it's the ISV? I am going to do a swap and see ( leaving the old one under the intake and just re route some hoses and hook up the wires to a spare one that Tom was kind enough to lend me .. Hope to try it this week and see...
So maybe it's your ISV ?
Good luck
Regards
Ed
BTW it seemed that once the car warmed up it would go away, and it was a bit intermittent..

"when I accelerate it goes to about 2500rpms then dies down to 800 then jumps to 2500 or 2000 then dies back to 800 wtf. "
That's a lot like a problem I had a while back. As best I can remember, it would accelerate to about 2500 RPM, then drop back. I could run below 2500 fine. It was intermittent. The problem was the TPS. I opened the TPS, and there were two wipers that wore away the resistive material forming two tracks. It's been a while, but I was able to shift the position of the wipers into new wiping tracks, and it's lasted another 8 years or so. Of course, about 2 years later, the idle (throttle closed) switch died. I had to fix the switch, too.

Yep its the TPS. I took off the top of the airfilter cover noticed the flap opening and closing ruled that out. It kept not revving over 1800. Then called a very helpful 951 guy told me to unplug the tps plug and see what happens. Sure enough it revved higher but when I gave it throttle it actually revved freely. Will soon either fix or replace that.
