Default Another Lindsey steam vent install question

Just received the steam vent. no instructions came with it. I see pics on LR site but do i just shove the clear hose into the end of the fittings? The reason I ask is the end of the fitting that takes the hose has a loose collar on the end that doesn't provide a seal when I pull the collar out. Am I missing something here?

So does this constantly just leak out the vent hose on the coolant tank. have read on here the clear line is always full of coolant.

There is no check valve, so coolant will flow if there is a draw... I don't think it's a lot of coolant, but it's enough to flush any steam/air that otherwise get stuck there.

If after installing and removing the tube a few times you develop a leak, just cut off an inch of the tube and you'll get a clean smooth tube that will seal again...

What's crazy is that I never knew GM had these on all their LS(x) style heads from the factory.

Sorry Reno. Sometimes I just rush things. Got in on today and filled up the coolant, hooked up all the wiring on the motor install, and then I stripped one of the downpipe studs. DAM. I gotta get this new new motor started.
