Depending on the damage, buy it back from the ins. co.when you are all done with the deal and make a race car out of it. A friend of mine got his na totaled in rear. It was drivable once I got the RR fender of the tire. Bought it from him from his company for $750. Rear clip and shazam, race car.

Yep, they'll always offer too low the first time around. Just don't be afraid to dispute it like I was - it will really pay off, literally!

If you can get someone you know and trust to have a look at it wherever it is right now and assess the damage, do it. If the frame is bent right good, then it wouldn't make much of a race car, although I've seen some real bananas win races.

Either way, buy it back for 10%! Then if it's not salvagable, part it out. Should be lots of good parts and more money towards the price of your replacement!

don't feel bad, i got offered 6k for a car i paid 10k for, and ended up getting 11,400 (as much as i hate to say, i got the car really cheap and actually made money wreacking it. of course, i'd give lots to have that car back).

certainly buy the salvage rights, heck even ifyou strip/part it, you'l make more than 900...

I wrecked a really sweet 911 a couple of years ago, and the advice I've seen here is pretty good. I found that honey worked better than vinegar - build a relationship with the adjuster/loss people. Make your case with options, etc; I got a couple of grand from options that weren't taken into account. Your insurance company will want to drop you at a moment's notice now, might as well settle for as much as possible.

For 10% you probably ought to buy the wreck. I did, for 28%, and sold it for that to a Rennlist member, but kept my wheels since I knew I'd replace it with a 993 or 951S.

BTW, this car is back on the road!
