My Highly Modded '89 951 - SOLD
#17
Nice car the mods almost mimick an 89 I had a few years ago.I would say its worth 20k us if the miles are under 80k but your only gonna get 13-15 us for it.
BTW I may be interested depending on miles price an if it can bear US tags pm me if you want to sell it.

There aren't many original pieces on the car, so not sure how to evaluate mileage. I have 210,000km's on odometer (130K miles), 6400km (4000 miles) on motor since rebuild. Lots of new or near-new parts on car.

looks much better now
I would pay up to $20K for the car assuming it is in tip top shape and with a whole rack of OEM parts to convert it back if ones needs to. With that said, the mileage is high on the chassis and a potential buyer may use that to negotiate a few grand lower so anywhere between $15-$20K. For reference, my 88S was basically stock and showed 58K on the odometer when I got it 7 years ago and paid $13K. It's now a 3L with double that amount went into a proper built with supporting mods so I hope to fetch between $25K-$30K if I sell it today. So I hope you get top dollar for yours so it will drive up all of our cars' value.

Thanks guys. I don't think the odometer reading is too relevant, since everything important is new on the car. Even so, that's only an average of 5900 miles per year over it's 22 year life. When I was putting this thread together, the number in my head was somewhere around $20K, so your comments seem in line with that.

I think you would be lucky to get 20k in the non-track market, just WAY too much competition for newer and better Porsches, track is where the value will be seen, but still you need to find the right guy...

Beautiful car and seems to be set up "right" IMO very tasteful and with the mods I'm guessing it's got the perfect balance between street and track.
I'm no authority on the matter but I'd guess $15k. You'd probably get $20k out of the package if you parted it out. With the mods, etc. you're going to be looking for a particular buyer IMO who wants a car that's already "done" but yet not looking for a cream puff all-original concours car.

PS got any shots of your rear seat delete? Looks nice and it's something I'd like to build out for mine next spring since my son is going to be too big to fit back there.

The car has been on a progressive diet for years. I took out the back seats to save a few pounds after installing the Redline rollbar. I thought about getting a 968 parcel shelf, but they're just as heavy or heavier than the stock seat backs. I wanted something that would reclaim more rear storage space and keep groceries from rolling into the front seat area.
I built a template out of cardboard (you can see it on the top of the freezer), then cut a shelf out of 3/8" plywood. Screwed on a vertical lip, and attached thin carpeting material with spray adhesive. Looks fantastic, is totally functional and super light weight. Doesn't shift, can support weight and slides in and out in seconds.

Take your time in selling it. To someone, it will be worth what you are looking to get, instead of settling for the 13-15k range. I say hold out for $20k+.
Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm not in a rush to sell. After washing it yesterday and taking a bunch of photos, I reminded myself how much I love it. I have decided on three price points -
$20k for the car as-is plus all my track parts, stock parts and spares – $4000 worth of track wheels/tires/brake pads/rotors/open steel lug nuts, stock seats/rear bumper/front undertray/rear wiper, various rate coilover springs, car cover, spare oil filters, Brad Penn oil, spark plugs, tps sensor, o2 sensors, spare short block/head/cam housing, set of 1st oversize 100.5mm pistons, lifters, clutch assembly, stock headers and exhaust, spare steering rack, engine wiring harness, Turbo S springs and torsion bars, control arms, and all my other 951 parts and spares.
$18k for car as-is (w/ splitter, rollbar, race seats, harness, fire extinguisher, and items below)
$17k for car with stock front and rear seats, slip-in cat/testpipe/muffler, spare 17" wheel, no other safety/race gear (race seats, harness and mount brackets, roll bar, fire extinguisher, front splitter).
Prices in Canadian Dollars (ie. slight discount for US buyer), buyer pays all shipping/import costs.
