I think a lot of people had this same question when the original turbo came out, and they released and add that showed all the parts that when into the 944 to make it a turbo. I'll look for it.

Ok, 30 min later, I can't find it, but I'll work on it.

And the short awnser to your question is yes and no
yes: because it is possible
no: because it is not worth while.

Here's the ad:

What's not pictured is the 951 DME/KLR computers. Usually about U$1000 from used parts places.

Ok, you don't need ALL of the parts, but at a minimum these are what you need:<ol type="1">[*]turbocharger $400[*]air-flow meter, airbox and plumbing $600[*]intercooler $400[*]turbo coolant pump, piping and coolant tank $250[*]turbo pistons $500[*]turbo con-rods $250[*]turbo head $500[*]turbo cam $350[*]exhaust headers $1200[*]crossover pipe $750[*]downpipe $400[*]wastegate & dump pipe $350[*]turbo catalytic & mid-exhaust pipe section $800[*]turbo DME/KLR computers & chips $1000[*]turbo transmission $1500[/list]

It's not too complicated. All you really NEED are the prerequisite turbo and plumbing, and a set of low compression pistons or rods. Now if you don't want to go to the trouble of modding your intake manifold, you could go for a turbo manifold. Or get Jon Milledges barrel valve intake. I just love that intake.

You might want to do the small things too, like add a good stud kit for the exhaust, head, manifolds, you know.

I guess turbocharging a 944NA wouldn't be any different than turbocharging a 968, and plenty of people have done that. However, a turbo-converted 944NA wouldn't be as good as a real 951. While a Turbo 968 would be better than either a 951 or a 968.
