Because it doesn`t do strange noises or whistle sound when it discharges. I think it`s less fake then other bov IMO.

I had noticed that on the Apexi bov if you adjust it loosser it doesn`t flutter, and make`s the discharge sound smouther like whouosssss, and not whouos..tss.tss..tssss..

Oops sorry. We are right in the middle of having our site totally redone. The standard BOV is 139.00 as a replacement. The big BOV is 299.00. I need to confirm that. The big version needs to be welded in and comes with the neck. If you are really interested in the bigger version I can confirm the price. I just need to run up to the office this weekend.

I just recieved my Compressor Bypass Valve from Imagine yesterday. I'll be installing it tomorrow and let you guys know how I like it. I'm very impressed with it so far.

Luke: You got yourself a deal. I'll pay the shipping too. Contact me off the list at: pdkennedy@wi.rr.com and we'll set it up.

Thanks,

Yes i have mine as loose as it will go. That helped with the fluttering sound a lot, it still holds the same boost too.

For what its worth, I'm happy with the Stratosphere HyperBoost DV. Its a direct fit and looks factory in black. I paid $139.

Cheers

Howdy...I have also been pleased with my Hyperboost DV from Stratmosphere...Excellent quality, and an acutal noticeable difference in boost recovery...I got my in black and unless you know what you are looking for/at you can't tell a difference from the stock Bosch valve...

I'm very happy with the Forge 007p thusfar, not quite direct replacement (I had to cut down a bit of the rubber bung on the J-pipe, nothing major, to get it to fit under the hood with the vacuum mount) but the fit/finish is nice, and is rebuildable...

I like my Bailey's. To be honest, there is not very much diffrence between any of the aftermarket valves listed above, including prices.

Forge = $139
Bailey's = $139
Strat = $139
Imagine = $139

Flip a coin a few times, then order one up.

Forge is sold by stratmosphere in the US, if I had my car I'd take a pic of it installed...my personal feeling was that the 007 was a hair bigger and a big more capable of venting high pressure than the 006, so I decided to go for that at the same price.

Do the BOV that only have the bottom "tube" to mount to(Only one hose goes to it) work as well or at all with our cars. any advantages/disadvatages with only the one tube going to it?

Unless you use Danno's or Tim @ SFR's MAP kit, you need the CBV (compressor bypass valve) with 2 ports because if you vent previously metered air (as with MAF systems) to atmosphere when you shift, you will get an EXTREMELY rich condition anytime you let off the throttle or shift

You can get the Forge valve from Imagine Auto That's where I got mine, I installed it today. Which was an effortless procedure, just 2 hoses clamps, I wish all upgrades could be this simple.

Boost response after shifts is a tad faster, this is the route to go if you do not want to have a ricey swooosh every time you shift. I always thought it would be cool, until I road in a car with an BOV dumping to the atmosphere, after 5 minutes of ridding shot gun, I was ready to abandon ship and decided that dumping to the atmosphere was not the route for me.

Like Perry said all the valves are function the same and sell for nearly the same price, you might as well buy from a rennlist sponsor.

JasonECW,
Where do you get a CBV and how hard is the install? If you get the CBV this will allow you to get a BOV that vents to the atmosphere without risking your A/F going really rich? Thanks
