GT3076R or T04E?

So I currently have a T04E/60trim with #8 hotside installed on my car. I need to pull the turbo and redo the feed/return seals. I am buying a GT3076R with no hotside for cheap, so I could get a #8 hotside that fits it and mounts up to the stock crossover.
I'm planning on doing a remote turbo on my V8 Audi, so I'll use whatever turbo I don't use on the Porsche on it.
So, should I bother with the GT turbo on the Porsche or just stick with the T04E?
Car is mainly a street car but might be heading more in the track direction in the future since the Audi is more of a street car than track car.

Well that's not going to just bolt to your stock exhaust. You're going to need a spacer to mount the GT series to the stock mount, which will raise the turbo too high for the exhaust to line up.

Keep the 60trim, you're going to need to do a lot of work to make the GT fit. Using a KKK hotside with a GT is friggin stupid. If you're going to do that much fab work use v-bands or a normal T3 housing (your x-over and downpipe will not fit, even with the K26 housing on the GT).

Sounds like it's what I figured...not worth it. Which is good, because a regular turbine housing that I can use on the Audi is cheaper than the KKK replica. Or I could use a Tial vband in/out housing which would make things easier too.

You need to look at the compressor maps and see which one (if any) works properly for your application.
Then you can look at the fitment issue.

both turbos are to small for the audi 4.2 v8 but if you're going to put a turbo on the audi id put the gt3076r on it with a larger 1.06 rear housing since it's in the 1.8-3L class. the kkk housing on the audi would make way to much back pressure. instant spool yes.. top end no. you'll get much more from the gt series on the audi.
on the porsche, you'll probably gain more on top end with less back pressure then the kkk. but just keep the kkk on the porsche. if you want as much power as you can get then go GT30R.
The adapter to mount the gt series turbo to our mount is a t3/4 to gt adapter. so it'll be perfect height. but you'll need another spacer between the mount and the adapter to get the oil passage to seal with the o-rings.

Thanks, I was hoping you'd chime in. After looking at the maps today, the GT is definitely better for the V8, but still not ideal. Based off of some reading on STS though, it seems like they use GT30 and T04 sized turbos on V6 to V8's with good look so I'm sure it'll do fine for the low amount of boost I plan on running with it. Will definitely look into the Tial housings as v-bands would make things much easier.

what's low boost? 5 psi will get you upto 350 rwhp-ish 10 psi will do 400 rwhp-ish depending of the flow properties (VE) of the engine. the 60 trim just can't do that. it'll need ~12 psi to flow enough air to put down 350 rwhp

To fit the GT series is a bit of work and it helps if you have the necessary hardware. Probably not worth it unless you like working on your car and like the novelty factor. Or, you want to run E85 and turn up the boost quite a lot. The guy wiring my car just assumed that I'd be running 30psi regularly. I had to 're-educate' him into the old ways...lol...
