Post What shocks should I use? Bilstein or Koni?

I am deciding between koni and bilsteins. My plans are to pu koni sport struts in the front, and bilstein Heavy duties in the back. I really want the back to be really stiff because it dips down on hard acceleration. Which is stiffer bilstein heavy duty or koni sport adjustables set at firm. On the front, I was planning on using that conversion kit from paragon products that coverts the nonrebuildable boge struts in to konis.

What you need on the rear is either new torsion bars(I went 27mm) or convert to coil over. The stock springs and torsion bars are way to soft. Stiff shocks might help but won't solve your problem. I have the koni inserts in the front(worked great) with #250 springs and konis is the back with 27mm torsion bars(about #220). The car now handles like a Porsche should.

Torsion bars are springs that have been straigthen out (or springs before they're wound). The function is the same; suspension movement twists the bar in torsion (compressing a coil-spring twists it in torsion as well).

Hmmm, rather than re-hash this discussion, check out this thread:

Interesting thing to note is that the M030 options for 944/951s have used Konis. While the 911 cars got Bilsteins...

Thanks for the the info guys. I think that I really want to go with bilsteins. But they are a bit more expensive. I have heard alot of things about konis, they foam up during heavy use and this and that. I only good things about bilstein, exept for the bilstein cup suspension being super harsh. Where can I find bilstein struts? I want a good firm ride but not a spine breaking one.

I have the "turbo cup" suspension and i do not find it too harsh. The springs are 410# but they are progressive.

Ditto. I have the turbo cup setup with progressive front springs and Bilsteins, very driveable, no problems/
