Question How to install lo-tek gauge pod

Do I need to remove the factory a pillar to get the lo-tek one on, it looks that way. I can't seem to get that thing off. I have all the screws out.

look real close for another screw (or 2). There were 3 if I remember corectly - and yes, you need to take the old a-pillar off and completely replace it. One of the best mods ever!

There are 3 screws and they all have to be removed. The tricky one is the one at the top of the A-pillar piece. In mine the screw was initially not visible at all, even through the screw hole in the A-pillar. It turns out that screw is (1) not aligned with the hole and (2) goes in at a weird angle, almost straight up toward the roof, as I recall. With some fishing around with a screwdriver I eventually found it.

Jake is right. My top hole had two screws in it. One straight in and one at a weird angle you could not see at all. We had to dig around and finally found it. If you went with the stock finish for an extra $5 it is a perfect match. Looks great. <img src="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/guages.JPG" alt=" - " />

I was able to test fit it in there. I haven't put the screws in yet but it fits great without them. I need to hook up the gauges now. I got boost and oil pressure. My factory oil pressure gauge does not work soI will try this one. My one concern is when looking at it from the outside you can see in the top "bubble" I don't really like the way this looks. Anyone have the same problem and maybe a possible fix.

Thanks for all the great advice, it looks great, and i did get the oem black add on for $5.

if anyone wants one of these with a VDO boost/vac and a VDO electrical oil temp gauge (in the OEM / black finish) for cheap, PM/email me (dmoffitt@rochester.rr.com) as i won't be needing the one i had in my old car...

glad you got it in there - re the "bubble" you should be able to put a little black silicone caulking on the gauge to hold it in firmly so you won't see past there... unless i am thinking of something else - mine has no such gap to speak of (with the VDOs, autometer air-fuel wasn't quite perfect)
