Stock:
Front - 225/50-16"
Rear - 245/45-16"

285/35-18 is too big! If you want 285 the correct profile is 30. 285/30-18 works with the correct offset.

Hope it helps!

I thought that all 951s had the same tire sizes.

Specifically:
Front: 205/55 R16
Rear: 225/50 R16

That's what came on the '86 944 Turbo.

yes, up until the '88 TurboS & '89+ Turbos which used 16x7.5/8.0 front and 9.0" rear wheels with those larger sizes listed above.

You can use a 285/30-18 tire on an 18x11" 70mm-offset rear wheel on an '89 944 Turbo.

The fronts had 65mm offset and the rears had 60mm. Some factory owner's manuals say the Turbo S had 7.5 rims... so this is a common misconception. In fact, I do not believe Porsche ever made this 7-spoke, forged rim design in anything but 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 widths.

A 285/30-18 will fit an '89 turbo easily with the proper offset, say 65mm like the factory wheels. I'm running 265/35-18s and they clear just fine. The '89 turbo has more room because of the rolled fenders.

Sorry, I keep on getting hung up on this; the '88/89 S did have 16x7.0" front wheels. I think people have mentioned that the later '90+ ROW cars used a 16x7.5" front wheel. Just that the U.S. models stopped in '89. Any Canadians out there with an '90+ 951?

Are you sure? Well, I guess you are...but it seems so strange that Porsche themselves are wrong about this.
Everywhere I read it says 16x8" regarding my forged front wheels (88S). BTW my is a European car.

Another thing, is it only the '89 Turbo that has rolled fenders?
