Default Source for coolant reservoir tank?

I price checked one on Pelican, $290! Holy crap, almost $300 for a plastic tank?! Is that really the price of one of these? If so, I'll just deal with my yellow/brown one...

Yep, it's one of those parts that's been steadily rising in price. No idea why.

Aluminum is shiny, but non functional. How are you supposed to check coolant levels with it once the coolant is warm and the system is pressurized?

Lart and eBay will yield used tanks in similar condition to mine. I can't believe a new one costs almost $300. Porsche probably has tons of them sitting around too...

That clear small hose on the side acts as a level gauge.

SFR doesn't include the clear tube any longer due to leaks. Not sure if Lindsey Racing does either.

I am confused. You have a V8 so you only need an NA tank. They are 120-130. Check Paragon. Turbo tanks are 270.

Hmm, I'm planning on a dry turbo and I bought mine new a year ago for right around $200. Screw the stock market, invest in OEM Porsche parts. Get your degree at the University of Lartiga

Holy crap! That's a steal for an AOR tranny!

My apologies Lart. I'll contact you off line.

I need the turbo reservoir as I've got the steam vent hooked up to it.

The leak / potential for leaks can be solved with a few fittings / hose (About $20 worth) from McMaster Carr. I think i was the first to post up about the issue of the vinyl hose originally used on them after the group buy.

As for checking coolant level, it is a bit of a pain with just the tiny sight glass (technically tube). I fill the coolant so its about 1/4 of the way up on a cold engine. As long as i see green in the tube when the engine is warmed up i am satisfied.
