Post Speed And Refrence Sensor Install

What are the tolerances for the Speed and Reference sensor installation? I just received my new Anderson Motorworks engine and the Speed and Reference sensors were not installed so I need to get then in there. If there is a step by step procedure anywhere please share it. What I'm I looking at to purchase a set of Speed and Reference sensors new?

Thanks

Speed sensor clearance is 0.8 mm (0.032"), with maximum tolerance of +/-0.3 mm (0.012"). "If this clearance is correct, the reference mark sensor will be positioned correctly automatically. The reference mark clearance will only have to be adjusted in the case of replacement or damage of the locked reference mark screw."

The manual recommends temporarily gluing a 0.8 mm thick washer of some sort on the sensor, bolting the sensor to the sensor bracket (8 Nm = 6 ft-lbs), then placing the spacer/washer against the ring gear and bolting the sensor bracket in place. If you are careful, you can just use a feeler gauge.

Sensor tips are magnetic; make sure there is not metallic debris on them when you install them.

Don't know what Porsche charges for them, but Vertex has OEM for $89 each.

Pretty much what Waterboy said... I took one of my old sensors and permanently glued a washer to it, bolted it into the sensor housing and then set it (cool... another Porsche specific tool for the collection! lol). Very easy once you actually do it, altho I was wishing my wrist had a second or third joint in it when I was doing it. I did mine when I had the intake off the car which made it MUCH easier.

Regards,
