Count me in for one also! I usually wedge my iPhone into the sub belt slot on the passenger seat.. some passengers object to my phone being inbetween there legs though .

I'm torn. A) I have a Iphone 4 so this seems like a natural fit

B) I'd rather relocate my Boost **** to this spot which I'm pretty sure will fit but may look odd with the two finger holes.

Is there any doubt that Jon leaves his phone on vibrate almost exclusively?

Good stuff Dana, can't wait to see the final product.

Funny fascination with 'deleting' things on these cars. They come factory with a covered armrest cubby so people spend money to change it to the 968 open tray. They come with a covered ashtray so again, change it to an open tray.

Of course there is nothing wrong with doing this. Just saying that it is amusing. I'm sure if these cars came factory with trays in these locations, there would be people designing covered storage options for these locations.

I was thinking of doing a 944 delete but can't bring myself to delete the whole car.

I tried getting it to fit after you mentioned it. The problem is the iPhone plug makes the whole thing almost the size of the cut-out. I can make a cutout for that, but then there is still the strain relief of the wire that make the wire stiff.

There really is just not the room. There is only a 1/4" on either side. The plug is somewhat bigger than 1/4".

That's what I use, with BOBCAD at home for CAM, which sucks. I'm thinking about getting something that integrates with Solidworks like Visualmill. I know that Bobcad has a version that integrates but their salespeople are so obnoxious that i don't want to deal with them. What do you use for CAM?

I think you have inspired me to make a custom holder for my XM radio..

Ha! I just popped mine out a month ago and though, "man, what a perfect spot! if only there was a tray I could plug in here..."

I'm in for a black one! I actually have a thin plastic shell around my iPhone 4 (faux carbon fiber actually, ha) so a few mms in each direction would be good to accomodate this. Please PM me if you start cooking up a lot of these!

I just got the first prototype part off the mold.

Some issues with it. I tried to do all layers at one time. This did not allow the CF to get into all corners well enough. Also it may be that I need to go with 8HS or 5HS weave for better corners. I will try some tricks to get the CF into the radius better. They are just sharp concave radii and will have to adjust slightly.

Photos of the 1st prototype

If you make a flat one that just covers the area I would really like one.
