I'm sure that the W/G line was connected, it runs to another part of the system that we didn't touch(3000 pipe). It definately spools way quicker and harder.

If you used the PVC tubes how can you get the small side lines to connect to the main tube? Also, is PVC piping strong enough to handle that kind of heat?

I'm not sure if the heat would be a problem or not. Good point.

The side nipples would be simply glued in. PVC glue would be more than strong enough for the pressures we see.

Use cpvc it holds up better with heat. Gray in color.

You PVC guys are insane!!!!

I have measured the air temp going into the intercooler. I have seen around 200 degrees C.

Good PVC is rate to hold 70psi at normal temps. It gets much meaker as temperatur goes up!!!

I worked in a lab for a while that pressure tested pipe. All testing was done by using hydrostatic pressure (as opposed to pnuematic) as compress gasses carry a huge amount of engergy (whereas compressed liquids don't). All testing was done inside 1/2 thick steel "coffins" (with balst vents) to contain the PVC scrapnel after exploding.

Be forewarned; PVC explodes easily and make tons of sharp pieces that fly everywhere.

Hey, I can be cheap too, but isnt PVC pipes carrying it a little far?????

We have seen in excess of 300F coming out of a k-26 compressor, at 20 psi of boost, on the dyno. That is alot of heat! As far as pressure is concerned......it should not be a problem since PVC has a 1500 psi bursting pressure.

i'm no expert, but wouldn't those little rubber water pipe connector joints at each end of the intercooler pipes burts way before PVC pipes?

We used schedule 40 PVC and it plainly states on the side of the pipe that it's rated for 250 psi. We did fabricate a metal line for the outlet of the turbo just to be safe.
