Air Oil Seperator Help (extreme blow by)

Ok i will get the numbers for my leak down test from my mechanic tomorow (probably)
Anyway, what is the worst that could happen if i dont get this fixed and buy the remote crank case breather.
Any potential engine damage.

When I had 30 + pecent leakdown in my engine I used to get what appeared to be a 1/4 cup ofliquid in my catch tank after every 30 minute track session. It also had a distinct gasoline smell.
I'd worry about contaminating my oil.

Well all i am doing is driving my car street wise.
And maybe get on the turbo once or twice a week.
But still,
I would have to get a engine rebuild to fix this problem?
How much would this cost?

If it's rings you'll need at a minimum head removal, pan removal and rods and pistons out. You'll need to purchase rod bearings, gaskets, rings, rod bolts and nuts.
However, at that point you are very close to a total rebuild.
Wait and see what the leakdown numbers show. You may not be as bad as you think.

Did you have turbo problems? If you did the it may hav filled th intercooler with oil. Every time you shift it would blow oil into the intake from the bypass.

If this wasn't such an old post they could have taken a photo of the engine bay (mainly the MAF area) and posted it. We all like to find Waldo first. It was probably hooked up wrong.

sources for blow by:
rings/bores
valve guides / stem seals
THE TURBO > under boost.
Incorrectly routed or leaking crankase lines/ports
you need to check the basics... compression test and leakdown test...
Rule #1, engage brain before hands.

Theoretically if the exhaust is restricted , say an older cat, then back pressure could push into the head and to the intake side but chances are the large o-ring on the AOS is bad, and let's not forget about the oil cap seal! I checked my AOS off the car by holding all the ports and blowing into it. And mine leaked like crazy. So I tried replacing the top seal but the plastic was so brittle I ended up with a new aos all together.
