Question How do I replace the side mirror?

My driver side mirror came loose the other day(glass only) and I can't figure out how to remove the rest of the frame piece that attaches to the motor. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

There is a twist lock ring that connects the glass plate to the motor assembly, there is a lock tab at the bottom of the ring that holds the ring from turning. It must be turned in order to release the glass mounting plate. It is difficult the first time you do it, it takes a lot of force and you think you will break it.
Just inspect the mechanism closly and you should be able to figure it out.
Good luck

You need to stick a thin 8" screw driver up through a small hole in the bottom of the mirror housing but first figure out if cw is on or ccw is on.
