Aftermarket Pistons & Alusil
Hello
Does the JE or Ross pistons compatible with the stock alusil bores ?
Who do offer 104 mm custom pistons for a 968 block ?
Regards
Nicolas

"Does the JE or Ross pistons compatible with the stock alusil bores ?"
Nope, not unless they have the iron-coated pistons like the Porsche stock ones.

Mahle has them. Apparently there are two types of 968 pistons running around. A flat-top version with valve-reliefs cut into the top like the S2 pistons. Then there's a second type with a bath-tub like recess in the top similar to a 951 piston. No one has been able to explain these differences or come up with part-numbers.
Supposedly, Mahle is cranking up production again and will be producing 104mm bore 968 pistons in various compression ratios.
