Post steering wheel options

The leather on my wheel has worn through at the 12 o'clock position. Just wondering what options there are to fix it or replace with an aftermarket wheel. I really like some of the Momo wheels with thicker sections, but of course I would lose the airbag. Has anybody replaced the stock wheel with a non-airbag unit and how much pain was involved? <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />

my MOMO Competition wheel was a pretty straight-forward swap. you will need to purchase a MOMO adaptor along with the steering wheel though to make it fit properly.

I was thinking of replacing my factory airbag wheel due to the leather becoming unstitched. However I decided to have AGLA recover it instead. I didn't want to hack up the airbag circuit because once you disconnect it and turn the key, the air bag light will come on. You can disconnect the light but if you sell the car and put the original wheel back on you will need the dealer to reset the airbag light - that's my understanding.

I would think you could get a use wheel from parts heaven in very good condition for $150. and swap the air bag. I took my air bag steering wheel off and put on a 86 wheel (from parts heaven $100.) in order to have the 1" hup extender (spacer) which also raises the wheel off me legs. I found out how to fix the wiring so the brain and bag light would not be on. Actually, now that I think about it I have a air bag wheel that might be for sale but I think it looks good hanging up in me garage.

If you need a replacement airbag wheel drop me a line... I have one in excellent condition that I won't be needing
