Exclamation Failed Power Locks

Curious if anyone has run into this and found a solution. My searches on tech pages and rennlist haven't turned anything up.

A few days ago the power locks stopped working. They won't activate by using either of the door keys, or from the switch inside. There is no aftermarket alarm installed.

I checked all fuses, and items (such as the sunroof) which are on the same circuit, operate as normal.

When I do operate from the center console switch, I can hear what seems to be a relay clicking under the dash. There doesn't appear to be any obstruction to the locks themselves as each one operates just fine either by hand or with the key.

Any ideas guys? Appreciate it...

If you can hear the power door locks operate, then they must've simply come off their joints in the door... Are both of them not functioning all of a sudden? If so I would check the switch on the center console. After that you can check the connections under the fusepanel, in the cabin close to the firewall, they seem to get corroded often, may have gotten un plugged also. If I remember correctly, when this is the case, you can still hear the 'relays'.

I'll offer you my (only electrical mind you) problems, maybe you'll feel better!
On my car I've so far fixed the power mirrors, locks, and clock with backlight!

Anyway, I'm now working on the rear wiper, sunroof, headlights, back up lights and trunk release... How's this for a problem to troubleshoot: The harness for fuses 16 through 20 is missing, some of the climate controls, foglights, defroster, power mirrors/windows work without the key! <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

Replace the plastic clips that connect the solenoid to the locking mechanism.
This is a common problem for 944s. There's only one plastic clip, so the dealer should have no problem finding which part to order for you.

If your prosche dealer has a hard time locating the part for you. I can dig up the part number for you.

good luck,

I read your first post again. It looks like you've may have a bad relay. Therefore, disregard my previous post.
