An RS4 might keep up but not an S4. My friend had both the v8 S4 and the twin turbo. My 3.0 is definetely faster than both the S4's in a straight line. Throw the S4 on a tight track with him driving different story

Hell I only have the "puny Vitesse St. 3" with a stock 2.5L and I smoked an S4 just the other day. Best part was that I didn't know we were racing -- when I saw him about to fly past me I got on it, promptly lost all traction, shifted, lost traction again, regained traction, and proceeded to fly past him.

Lord, I do that so infrequently (especially since I've been living in Boston) that afterwards my little heart was a-palpuhtaytin' sumthin' fureeeous.

Edit: I should also note I was running 16lbs of boost, have headwork done, and lightweight flywheel+PP. Not that that makes a huge difference; just throwing it out there.

Well, lets just compare modded vs modded..........in a B5 S4.......going straight.....both with displacement increase......it is not even being a contest on the dyno or road....60-130in the 5's......not even George D 's built is going to be a match.

He's better off from a dead stop...then you'd only come roaring by at the top of first!

The same would happen to the V8 RS4...I've driven one in anger. From a roll it would be no contest against a 3.0L tuned 951.

Reno, the whole thing is friendly banter between us. As for his car, I do know it, and I also know the driver.

He is the type that buys a new car every few years, and doesn't touch them performance wise. His tactic for racing is 1) have an auto and 2) mash the gas.

That is a nice car. I really do not care if I have the fastest car on the road, that is not why I built it. There are plenty of cars out there that are faster.
