Post nice 88 944 turbo for $900!!!

I have been dealing with a guy who saw me working on my white/maroon sport seat 88 944turbo who asked me if i was selling it. I told him that i would let it go for 9. After a bit of negotiating, pre-purchase inspection, blah, blah he came to buy the car and tried to give me $900!!!!!!!!! What a freakin' MORON!!!! When i said 9, i OF COURSE meant $9,000!! This is a really nice car and quite a deal at $9,000. All this even after i had showed him the records that showed a $15,000+ investment had been made in the last 20k miles replacing all possible failure items!! The guy must think that i just like giving $ away!
I guess i should have been tipped off when he asked me what kind of "body kits" were available for it! I explained to him that "body kits" are used to TRY to make economy cars look like sports cars, and this was in fact a sports car, eliminating the "need" for a "body kit"

Carter,

Incredible that someone of even minor intelligence would even go through a pre-purchase inspection and then have the nerve to negotiate the price to buy the car for an incredible deal of $900!!! You're right, what an idiot. But we can all attest to that the fact there are some strange folks our there....

This dude definitely has some problems.

You are right about that. If i saw a 951 for $900 i would pay them on the spot! it would be worth that with no driveline.

I sold an old Chevy Citation (cir. 1980) to a guy for $400. When he came to pick it up, he asked me if he could take the car and make installment payments!

I told him he could make payments - one.

I'm wondering about the pre-purchase inspection- like 944turbo said- did he actually have someone do a pre-purchase inspection or do you just meant that he looked it over? How many times did he look at it and when he was reasdy to buy, had he already gone to the back to have cash in hand to buy it? What was his reaction when you corrected his ignorant ***? More details please? How stupid can a person be- if I were there as your helper, I would have been

Sooo-

He had me take it to a local foreign car shop. I am sure that he did not tell them a selling price or they would have tried to buy it!

The PPI was also a joke. They noted some of the stupidest stuff i have ever seen and did not check ANYTHING that actually matters. They noted that the car had greasy fingerprints on the rear bumper!! I had just put a "new" cat-back on it and had not had time to wash my f-prints off from pulling myself out from under it.
They aslo noted that the banjo-bolt had an aluminum washer on one side and a copper one on the other!! WTF! I dropped one putting the LBE on and replaced it with what was in my toolbox.
They noted that the airbag light was on......DUH...who wouldn't notice that....it took me 25 seconds to reset it
I asked them if they did anything relevant, like a leak-down or compression test, he said they compression tested 1 cylinder! WTF! What is that gonna tell you. I don't think he even knew what a leakdown test was. They did not check the belts, clutch lining....NOTHING

I did show the MORON that tried to buy it for $900 the listing in the CPI(cars of paticular interest) black book. It shows a low of $9100.00 and a high of $13675.00

The guy came by later to show me the 93 mustang convertible that he got a loan for that day! The purchase price was $8,000!!! WHAT A MORON!!!!!!
I am going to ask a friend to hold all of my firearms for me for a couple of weeks until it blows over......i can't be responsible for my actions right now.

I did ask him if he would like to have his 5.0's *** handed to him by a 2.5 =)
