i don't understand why people mess with the stock gearbox. if everything is in nice shape the gearbox feel on these cars is one of the best features.

Your saying that because you never driven a 951 with these mods before

If there is a way to get rid of the rubbery feel to the shifter, reduce the throw while utilizing the stock shifter boot and handle, I'd be game for sure. Suggestions?

ummm ok. i guess i don't have any car experience.

everyone i know with a short shift kit misses 2nd on a daily basis. the only reason it feels loose or rubbery is because it's been bagged out for 150k miles. just my opinion.

. Touche! But short shift kits for these cars are still a waste of a mod in my opinion.

With a 948, the SSK is key to really getting the jump on my friend's C5

Even with a short shift kit on my C5 it is still like shifting a damn semi-truck compared to the sweet snick-snick of the Porsche. Stock was even worse, it was vague to the point of being dangerous. Way too easy to pick the wrong gear when really shifting with that stock lever. Luckily 2nd gear winds out to ~80mph so the one time I was going 6 > 4 but grabbed 2nd accidently on the highway all that happened was I chirped the tires and got the rear end a little loose.

And while I like the shifter... I'm looking for something to get rid of the crappy linkage at the transmission and still do the reduced travel.

Hi. Tony! If you have problems in ordering through the web shop - just email me at info@9products.com and place the order manually. Unfortunately the complete shifter linkage is still under development.. Here's the prototype unit:

Nothing to do with them.... I just couldn't figure out how to actually purchase from the site.

I don't have any time to wait. I need to get a linkage in pretty quickly. So I'm looking elsewhere for now.

My friends company will introduce shortly a linkage which might suit your needs nicely. I have seen a prototype; and it was real good.

If you are looking for more track oriented sifter; i recommend this Shark manufactured item. Drove once a 968 CS with this sifter, and it felt real "pro"
