What month and year were the belts rollers and all that changed? It's only been driven 3000 miles since then, but the time its been since is also important.

Hmm , I know this is gonna ruffle feathers but I know on a post here somewhere, someone posted that the FSM stated that miles are more important than time.

Cleve, thinking hard...I just spent too much on the wife's new wheels - didn't plan on a 2012.

January 2008 at 36,700 miles. Supposedly time isn't as important these days as miles due to the quality of the modern belt material? Anyone have any more information on this?

oh, when pistons and valves will hit upon breakage, I think we all er on the side of caution. Race car gets them every two years.

I'd drive it home and then do the belts just to start my own records if I...like I said, thinking hard on it but I'm doing carpet in the den and office, and new brick around the fireplace, + new air/heat unit downstairs. I know I know, you can't race your house but you can sleep in your car.

I am with you ski, this one is sick nice. Then again, mine still isn't running from the short block you built for me (I work way way too much). Should be under her own steam in november.

I think it is OK for selling, but most that buy it will want to replace I think.

"Paint Meter" interesting never seen that device. So what does the reading exactly mean? And does the reading differ on makes of vehicles?

He is showing that the paint thickness across the vehicle is even, and there have not been any repairs with filler.

It measures paint mil thickness. All makes have different ranges of paint thickness, some as low as 2.0 from the factory to as high as 11.0+ for vehicles like the Lexus LX570. What you look for is a consistent close range (e.g. 2.5-3.5) and when it jumps out of range (e.g. 5.0-7.0) you know that something isn't right and to look further. Body panels will have slight differences from the factory depending on vertical or horizontal (e.g. hood vs. door).

This is a very clean car and whoever gets it will have a well kept, well documented car. A "true" 1-owner 951 is nearly impossible to find nowadays. Mine was the same exact car, only with some minor exterior modifications and it sold for $14600 with 70,000 miles ( see pics in signature ).

I have been looking to get another one but promised myself to go with red this time around....might change my mind though because the condition of this one is mint! It wont last too long for 15k, that's a steal considering the history, mileage & condition.

haha - my favorite comment:

I had a n/a that was a great car and a good friend had the turbo.
The difference between the two is like having a beer and pizza
or having a beer and pizza with Olivia Wilde as a date

It's sad to see such a fine example going for so little. There is an '86 911 turbo with 37k advertised for $40k up here in Seattle. IMO, I think you should ask more. 38,000 miles is insane.

I agree. Fine examples are hard to come by. When we see one we keep shooting ourselves on the foot by commenting it's priced to high. You rarely see a 951 like this these days. I'm tempted to buy it just to have it.
