Cycling valve location
Hi,
I would like to know where the Cycling valve is located and it´s Porsche part number. Is it known by some other name?
Thanks,

It's under the intake manifold, look around the runners for #3 and #4 and you can see the top of it, usually beige with an electrical connection on it.
The part number on my 86 951 is 951 606 117 00. It is labeled as the 'timed valve'

It's the round device under the back of the intake manifold with an electrical connection on top and vaccuum hoses on the sides. It also goes by the alias "timed valve".

Ivan, not sure why you are trying to locate the CV, but for what its worth....there is an alternative.
I have a Lindsey Boost Enhancer (LBE). With this controlling the boost, I routed the hose from the LBE directly to the wastegate (10 mins). THe CV is now out of the picture and the car runs better than ever.
Reason: my 1986 plastic parts (CV and vacuum lines) are showing their age. All brittle and leaking. Much happier with this "simpler" solution.
Much more info on the LBE by doing a search or similar product RELIABOOST from Guru Products.

Thanks to everyone.
I am getting only 1.2 bar of boost. So I am trying to check everything involved, I think the CV is the first one. I think I don´t have any problems with the turbo, and we have checked the main hoses and boots for leaks.

Guys, If your dash gauge is showing 1.2 doesn't mean that is 1.2 bar of boost (you would be flying with it). The real reading is 0.2 bar, 1 on the gauge means 1 atmosphere = 0 boost. Check also BOV.

Mark,
we should be reading 1.75 bar in the stock gauges, according to the workshop manual (Porsche's). How is your fuel consumption?
I also have a white 951 (stock).

Fuel consumption seems fine. Never actually measured mileage, but not at all abnormal. My stock guage never hits 1.75. Max is right around 1.4. I am thinking of adding a pillar pod and a "more accurate" boost guage.
