I don't think most 944's would fo very well given the dead stopped start. I was setup pretty well for that and some of the faster cars stayed even.
Now if it were a rolling start, then I'd agree.

But like you said, you had on drag tires.
With a proper launch, the 944 isn't THAT horrible out of the hole. Then you even the score with 2 turns thrown in. Your car launches like a mashed cat. If you can get it to turn, you might have that event.
Low right front tire pressure to pivot the *** end around. Some "proper" tires..... You should borrow Josh's car .
Don't forget Colorado National has stepped banking too. The 2nd lane in the corners might help keep the turbo spooled (Sounds like you didn't have that problem though)
