It seems like this event is what the 944 has been waiting 25 years for.

With a properly setup car, I bet you could kick some *** out there. What track was it?

It was at Colorado national speedway.

I don't think most 944's would fo very well given the dead stopped start. I was setup pretty well for that and some of the faster cars stayed even.

Now if it were a rolling start, then I'd agree.

But like you said, you had on drag tires.

With a proper launch, the 944 isn't THAT horrible out of the hole. Then you even the score with 2 turns thrown in. Your car launches like a mashed cat. If you can get it to turn, you might have that event.

Low right front tire pressure to pivot the *** end around. Some "proper" tires..... You should borrow Josh's car .

Don't forget Colorado National has stepped banking too. The 2nd lane in the corners might help keep the turbo spooled (Sounds like you didn't have that problem though)

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it... no

Like I said it was spur of the moment on my way home from work. Didn't have anyone with and didn't really know anyone there (not my crowd)

My sister in law took some videos of last wedsnday night at the dragstip. I'll link them here as soon as she uploads them
