Post What oil/weight to use in my 86' 951?

I usually use mobil 1, but I have a few poeple tell me that 15w15 is the way to go. This seems kind of thick to me for strret driving, but I am certainly no expert.

15/50?

My mechanic put 10/40 in it this spring, but I think I'll go back to 15/50 Mobil1 next change.

The only way there might be a thickness problem is if you drive it when it gets down around zero. The owner's manual says 15/50 is good for -15 up, but I wouldn't use it that low.

I am not sure where you gents are driving, but up here in Michigan I use 15W50 Mobil 1, I have used 10W40 Mobil 1 but it seemed to become dirty faster than the 15weight, it gets awfully hot and humid up here for a few months and this is the way I go...

15w50 Mobil 1. I'd probably go thicker if it was easily available.
