I've been looking around.
The 60K-70k cars are not that nice at all. They are pretty used.
The real nice cars are all going for over 80k - 90k.

Yes someone paid 85k for the car.
And yes it was probably one of the nicest ones I've ever seen.
Furthermore, it had extensive modifications.

I love the 993tt, but have you considered the 996tt? If you look carefully, the cars seem to be available in the mid to high 80's. I imagine the engine has quite a bit more potential with its 4 valve head and water cooling. Reading on the 993tt and 996tt boards, from a performance perspective, most people seem to prefer the 996tt.
IMHO, the biggest negative of the 996tt compared to the 993tt is the brake/PSM based differential control, 100 lbs more curb weight, and less sexy body.

The biggest downside to the 996TT is that it's watercooled (which is also its' biggest advantage).
The problem is that the 996TT has so much crap on it, that it has lost its simplicity with respect to design and the ability to work on it.

Tony, looking at your pictures of your fuel pressure gauge off the fuel rail-
are those just npt fittings youve assembled to clear the hood? if so..great idea.
if not..enlighten me!
your car looks fantastic btw, that interior is simply flawless.

Hey... hope the MAF works out for you.
And yes those are 2 simple 1/8" NPT 90's. Clean and simple, and no hood dents.
Thanks for the compliment on the interior. It took a lot of work. I've changed out not only the dash, and center console, but the entire carpeting/rear mat, and had the seats re-leathered.
It looks like I'm going to install a set of black 993 seats in the car very soon here too BTW. At that point, I'll reinstall the airbag turning stalk, and install a 993 steering wheel.

While the 930 is certainly simple to work on, aside from the CIS injection...... it's still a 930 and it drives and handles like a 930, which is a night-and-day difference compared to a 993TT with respect to acceleration, lack of turbo lag, 4 wheel drive, and handling. The 993TT is a much much better, more modern, faster, and better handling car by an order of magnitude!

>>>>>Some would say that the all-wheel drive and the more modern handling take the 911 out of the 911!<<<<<<
Agreed. But there's nothing like that 993TT getting on it off the line, with no turbo lag, and all 4 wheels pulling you! It's incredible for sure.

about the low mileage cars for cheap....
I have found a lot of these cars are nasty...you see a low mileage / great price car and when you inspect it you start wondering how so much has happened to the car. Coffee spills, leather cuts, scratched up lenses and plastic, smoking odors, etc...

And did you have to do anything special to attach the npt to the fuel rail/gauge or is it all done with adapters? thanks.
