Post Question for Paul Bloomberg

Didn't know how else to track you down. Sorry for the public calling out.

If I have your 951 pinpointed correctly, there's a quick photo of it on Guru Racing's home page in the upper right hand corner. Also I saw it displayed on Clark Blumberg's site, Guards Red with aero mirrors and wheels that I couldn't identify, hence my question: The wheels appear to have a dark grey mesh design with polished outer lips. What ARE those? They look fabulous, are they Simmons? Did you have any difficulties with fitment? Can you tell me the sizes and the offsets, and what they weigh?

Thanks,
Pat Kennedy

Yep. Did so right away.

Did you have a web site with excellent pictures of both of your 944's? I remember seeing something like that once upon a time.

I finally figured out why I think your 951 looks so outstanding. If you have 12" rims on the rear you obviously have extra wide rear fenders. Are they GT Racing or AIR? I'm tellin' ya, that's the best looking 951 I've ever laid eyes on!

Thanks for your response,
RPK

Huh? I thought they were 13" wheels with 335mm tires...?

Thanks Danno-San. That is exactly what I remembered.

In Paul's e-mail to me, I thought he said the rear rims were 12" wide. Perhaps I am mistaken. Either way, that 951 is picturesque!

Talking

"I thought he said the rear rims were 12" wide."

I do recall him mentioning that he was getting the rims narrowed to use 315mm tires.

Paul, how much work was it to put that 951 widebody on? What are the fenders made of? Are there wide fender flares on the front too? Thanks.

I appreciate the comments on my car. Chris Cervelli (Technodyne) basically did the whole car except the body work. The body work is far from perfect, but most people wouldn't notice.
The car has had basically everything replaced, rebuilt or upgraded if possable from the ground up. I will probabley keep the car to turn it into a race car (take out the nearly perfect interior)after I get a few years racing experience in a lower HP car or sell it. I probablely have $35K into it and realize that I would take a huge loss if I sold or traded it for another Porsche???
