I usually get in the low to mid teens in the city, and mid 20s to mid 30s on the highway depending on how often I get on boost. The milage you get is going to be largely a function of how you drive the car.
The oxygen sensor being in good working condition will make a big difference when you're not driving hard. Anything that reduces restriction to the air flow in/out of the engine should theoretically increase gas milage, as well as the strength of the spark in the combustion chamber.

To clarify I should've said "as well as the strength of the spark in the combustion chamber". Stronger the spark, more efficient the combustion, more efficiency yields the same power output using less fuel (or obviously more power using the same amount fuel).

21 mpg in the city, 34 on the highway last time I checked. I run 94 octance pump gas with a bunch of that techron stuff that is supposed to "burn cleaner" and get you better mileage. I'd say I'm not a bigtime lead foot, but do get on it for at least a few runs for every tank.

The only way for me to get good mileage is to put a block of wood under the gas peddle. This limits the throttle to 50% or less. YMMV

so, i should get a Tec III to get better gas mileage? hmm. sounds like good justification to me!!

Last time I measured it, it was around 19mpg with mostly around town driving. I never got a full tank that was all highway, so I donno how my mileage is there. I did a tank mixed highway and around town and I think it turned out to be around 25mpg, so 28 isn't out of the question for 100% highway.

The best I was able to get without resorting to gramma driving is 21 city and about 31 highway. This is with a 2.8 so should be a bit worse than a 2.5.
To get it that good I had to tune it totally differently than a track car. Anything under 30% throttle runs about 17.5/1 A/F mixture. Idle is at about 18/1. The tough part is getting it to transition nicely to the 12.5/1 you need for max power.
My track car was in the high 3's or low 4's. Damn near a gallon every 3 minutes at some tracks.
