Street to Track (wheels)
Can anyone recommend a good track wheel that wouldn't break the bank? Looking for 17" or 18". I see a lot of CCW used on the list but would like some suggestions. What should one reasonable plan to spend?
In other words, what is the best value (outside of factory wheels)?

Three Wheelin'
Factory wheels really are the best value.
Other popular wheels besides CCW: Fikse, BBS, Forgeline. A level below that would be O.Z., and other quality asian manufacturers. At the bottom of the barrel are the italian cast knock offs.
Unfortunately you get what you pay for in wheels. The best bang for your buck will be factory Porsche wheels.

racerxrick - I was looking at these rims. Are these the ones you indicated are soft?

They are light...calling them "soft" was not a dig on them
Mine are 18x10 and 18x9 w/ 285/30 and 245/35 rubber.

Factory wheels are a great value. But if you are looking for something with a different look, or wider or larger diameter, you have to look to the aftermarket.
Not all aftermarket wheels are the same.
If we can help out, let us know, we currently have rennlist specials on two of the brands listed below!
Cheers

Best bang for buck is Team Dynamics. 18x8.5/10 I think it was $1250? They are the spec wheel for British Touring Car. Racers Edge can get them. Will try to get some pics of mine.

I have the 17" CCW's race version and Rick's experiences have had me on edge driving mine on the crappy Ohio roads. I also have a set of MY02's but haven't ventured to install them yet since they might become my winter wheels.
